Education for All

Khadim Fayez
296 Days of Education Ban for Teenage Afghan Girls. Still, they are not back to school. New generations are the leaders of tomorrow. They should pursue their higher education and are empowered with new knowledge, skills and technologies.
Peace and development would not be possible without educated, wise and like-minded people. Education is the key factor towards sustainable peace and development. Society needs human capital, social capital and intellectual talk and practices which result in literacy, regular education and professionalism. In fact, one factor that differentiates between Western and Eastern societies and culture is professionalism. In most Eastern societies, professionalism in its real meaning has not applied till now.
Lack of education and low rate of literacy in least developed countries led to destruction, violence, conflict and war in those countries, meanwhile, conflict and insecurity lead the communities towards ignorance, backwardness and illiteracy. Let’s take Afghanistan as an example. Teen Afghan girls are not allowed to go to school to pursue their secondary and higher education. Women are banned from working and participating in social and political spheres. It means half of society, and even all parts of society, are paralyzed.
One of the solutions to conflicts transformation and reducing violence in Afghanistan is to fight for ‘education for all’ and carry out schooling in all corners of the country.
