Local sources report that a woman was brutally murdered by unidentified gunmen in Kabul’s Mirbachakot district on Sunday evening. The attackers fled the scene, and the motive remains unknown.
Taliban authorities in the capital have not commented on the killing.
The Afghan Women’s Coordination Association has expressed deep concern over a sharp rise in mysterious killings under Taliban rule. In a statement, the group said it is working to protect women’s rights and raise awareness to combat violence and gender inequality.
Taliban leaders have repeatedly claimed that security has been restored nationwide. Earlier this month, Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani insisted the country was safe.
However, many Afghans say these claims ring hollow. They argue that security is not only about saving lives but also about dignity, freedom, and justice. They believe these values have disappeared under Taliban rule.
