Local sources in Kandahar report that the Taliban have enacted new restrictions against women in this province.
According to these sources, Taliban members have expelled women and girls who had gone to male dental clinics for treatment.
The Taliban have warned male dentists to avoid examining women and girls; otherwise, they will face punishment and imprisonment.
These restrictions against women are being enforced while they are already denied all of their rights, including access to hygiene and medical care.
After the closure of medical education centers, thousands of students have been deprived of studying medical science. In addition, many doctors and nurses who were working in hospitals have left their jobs because of the Taliban’s restrictions.
