The Taliban court has announced in a statement that officials of the group in Khost province whipped a woman in public on charges of having an “extramarital relationship.”
The statement from the court says that the primary court of the Bak district in Khost province sentenced the accused woman to five months of imprisonment and 39 lashes.
In another statement released today, Tuesday (November 19), the court reported that another woman was lashed in Baghlan province too.
In the past month, the Taliban has lashed 18 women in public, on various pretexts and false accusations.
Previously, some women who were protesting against the group issued a statement saying that the Taliban are “unchangeable” and that the international community and human rights organizations should not trust this group.
