Taliban’s Vice and Virtue Officers arrest 9 civilians in Kabul

The Taliban’s office, known as the “Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice” has said in a newsletter that its city agents have arrested nine persons from the third and fifth districts of Kabul.

According to the newsletter from the Taliban’s Office for the Promotion of Virtue, three of the detainees were arrested on charges moral corruption, while six others were released on bail following their arrest

The department, quoting its city officials, wrote: “We are committed to preserving Islamic and social values and preventing such actions.”

The Taliban are arresting citizens under various pretexts while their own members are mired in corruption. Members of this group have repeatedly committed bribery, falsification of documents, and moral corruption.
However, the so-called Supreme Court of the Taliban and other relevant departments of this group, instead of enforcing punishment, have tried to conceal and cover up the corruption of their members.
