The Afghan Women’s Movement for Justice and Freedom calls for the reopening of girls’ schools

On March 31, 2022, the Afghan Women’s Movement for Justice and Freedom in Kabul condemned the Taliban act of banning girl’s schools and called on the Taliban Administration to reopen girls’ school.

The resolution of this movement mentioned that in other Islamic countries, a high percentage of school and university graduates are girls; But in Afghanistan girls are deprived of their most natural right, which is education.

In the resolution of this movement Mentioned:

Today, there is no Islamic country that banned girl’s education. All Islamic countries are trying to bring a balance between girls and boys education. Among the Islamic countries such as Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Indonesia have the highest levels of female literacy. 96% of women in Tunisia, 92% in Indonesia and 96% in the UAE are literate.

Therefore, The Afghan Women’s Movement calls on the international community and the Afghan people to put pressure on the Taliban to reopen girls’ school.

They warned that if girls’ schools are not reopened, they will continue their protests against the Taliban.

This movement was formed after the fall of Ashraf Ghani’s government. Their goal is to defend the afghan women’s rights. Many demonstrations and protests have been organized by them.
